Awareness and Fundraising
Well with all that is going on it is great that over the last few months many foreign Volunteers and Visitors have joined our friends in Malawi with a number coming from the U.K. Many have stopped by the office while travelling through Nkhata Bay. Recently a number have inquired about us while travelling through Africa after reading about africa unplugged in the Lonely Planet Guide. We are sorry that we cannot thank everyone for their time and effort in supporting our friends in Malawi but the following are just a few who have supported. Tristan (UK) Gunnhld (Norway) Lyn (Norway), Maria (UK), Fiona (UK) Haddas (Israel) Another Two volunteers that visited from the UK where Fliss and Tom. Both found their experience a life changing one and on their return organised a Awareness and Fundraising night on behalf africa unplugged at a local pub in Hammersmith, London (The Dartmoor Castle Pub).
Awareness and Fundrasing Night held at the Dartmouth Castle Pub in Hammismith London
As this was the first event we were very nervous how it would go, but, in the end, it was a great success with unto sixty people attending.
On the night itself, we raised £375 directly for projects, so from all of us here at africa unplugged U.K. we thank the Dartmouth Castle Pub for letting us hold the event and we give a Special Thank You to Tom and Fliss who organised everything.
